In this video i will show you how to
create a Software Deployment Share.
This exercise walks you through the process of
creating a software distribution share point. In this exercise, you will prepare for software deployment by creating a directory share and placing certain types of files in this directory.
- Using Windows Explorer, create a folder called Software that you can use with application sharing.
- Within the Software folder, create a folder called Office2003.
- Right-click the Software folder (created in step 1), and select Sharing And Security. In the folder properties dialog box, choose Share This Folder, and type Software in the Share Name text box and Software Distribution Share Point in the Description text box. Leave all other options as the default, and click OK to create the share.
- At this point, you would copy all of the Office 2003 installation files to the Office2003 folder. For purposes of this simulator, the next exercise assumes that you have completed this step.
